January 3: Pug Life

This is Mr. Nikko, my pug. He's almost 8 years old. He loves warm blankets, bacon flavored treats and sleeping 22 out of 24 hours a day. This is his usual spot on the top of the couch like a cat. And sadly, this was the most interesting thing from my day! : )

January 2: UF vs OSU

We finally got the house back to normal after all the Christmas decorations came down .. and while we were cleaning I (of course) had the Florida/Ohio State game on. Ended up being a good game for UF. Especially after a pretty disappointing year. Hopefully we'll do a little better next season!!

January 1: Fog

Woke up new years day to some crazy fog outside. It doesn't look as bad in the pictures as it was .. but I could barely see my neighbors house from my front door. A little bit of a boring start to my 365...

New Year: New 365

Well, I guess I didn't do so good keeping up with my last 365, so we'll see how I do this year. Thanks for all the positive feedback I got and hopefully I won't let you all down this year! Happy 2012!!

Super Moon Info

Learn what makes a big full moon a true 'supermoon' in this SPACE.com infographic.

Thought this was pretty interesting. And a little bit easier to understand. : )

Day Seventy Eight: SuperMoon

Tonight the moon is the closest it's been to Earth since March of 1993. It's known as a Perigee moon or super moon and is 14% bigger than the normal size. It is also 30% brighter. And only happens every 20 years or so according to NASA.

When I first saw the moon coming over the horizon, it was huge .. but by the time I grabbed my camera and set my settings, it was much smaller. Scientist say this is because of an illusion made by seeing the moon beaming through trees, buildings and other foreground objects. But I know what I saw and it was way larger!

If anyone is curious, these were my camera settings:
. Aperature at 11
. ISO 100-200
. Shutter 1/125
. 200mm
. No flash, no UV filter { although I don't currently have one on anyway }
. Didn't use tripod because I had a fast shutter speed, but it would have probably looked better if I had. I was just being lazy.

Day Seventy Four: Wavy Clouds

For anyone that has read my ideas section, you'll know that I wanted to get a good picture of those little wavy clouds that are usually seen in the morning. Well folks, I finally did!

I'm not sure what these are called, but I love the pattern they make. Next time I'll zoom out a little, but I'm happy that I finally have something to check off my list!
