Day Fifteen: Tallahassee Museum

I couldn't decide what picture to put up from our trip to the Tallahassee Museum, so I did a few of them. We didn't get to see as many animals as we thought we would because the weather was so cold, but we still had a great time. This first one is the window of a small church that was built in 1851. I thought this window was beautiful and has such amazing detail.

This is an old bike. I will never understand how someone could actually ride this thing.

Seats in the old school house.

These are a few pictures from the Seaboard Railroad caboose. It was an actual functioning caboose along the Florida railroad system for many many years.

This guy is a 40 year old great horned owl. He had a broken right wing when they got him 30 years ago, so he has not been able to fly for at least that long. Something I never knew about owls is they have feathers on their feet so they can stay perfectly quiet while flying.

Apparently otters will bite. Good to know.

I think this little fellow was following us around. He was too cute not to take his picture.

This is a black bear. He was pretty bummed when he found out the box of Cheerios in his pen was empty. The girls really liked seeing the bear. Ryen kept yelling at him, "Hey animal, come here bear". She got a pretty good chuckle out of the crowd.

There was suppose to be an alligator in here, but all we saw were lilly pads. A lady that worked there said they like to find holes to stay in when the weather gets this cold. But we did get to see a baby gator later in the day.

This tells you how cold it was there. This is ice in the water. Brrrr.

These are Cypress trees. They were calling them, trees with knees. Pretty clever. And I finally got a decent reflection picture. Actually, it's my first one, but I think it turned out okay.
